This New Year’s Eve, you have the option of ringing in 2013 by treating yourself to witnessing a living legend perform a DJ set, live and right before your very eyes, thanks to Euphonic Conceptions. Amon Tobin, also known as Two Fingers, is coming all the way from Brazil, to headline this one-of-a-kind NYE event alongside the likes of Eprom, Kastle, Future Simple Project, Seied, and The Digital Connection. There are many different parties, shows, and events to choose from as we make the transition from 2012 into 2013. If you need some help deciding, I highly recommend this particular show if you are interested in a one-of-a-kind musical experience that you will never forget.

Amon Tobin is a veteran to the music scene. He also releases music under his alter-ego, Two Fingers (since 2009), which was originally a collaboration between he and an artist called Doubleclick. However, these days Two Fingers is Amon Tobin alone, and he releases some intriguing, awesome material under either moniker (see bottom of this post for his latest video for his song called “Vengeance Rhythm“, where a teddy bear unleashes some brutal bloody rage unveiling his spree killer self on the rest of his childhood toy cohorts. Imagine something like Toy Story: Murder Edition). Under the name Amon Tobin, more than ten studio albums have been released since he broke into the music scene between 1994 and 1995, and has also contributed to many, many more albums and projects. His music has been used in motion pictures like The Italian Job and 21, as well as many indie movies. He is ultra-pro status, having almost twenty years experience of manufacturing his sounds for the world to enjoy. That being said, he is probably most notorious for his uncanny ability to take a given sound and manipulate it (in a way that only he could do) to create a new sound entirely. He has his own unique ways of producing music while simultaneously designing and arranging sounds. His music can be described as a fine-tuned mixture of electronic, break beats, drum n’ bass, hip-hop, blues, jazz, and grime. Many different musical instruments are utilized to create his masterpieces; including (but not limited to) synthesizers, keyboards, drums, and the saxophone. 

Amon Tobin  integrates himself into an audio and visual presentation of his music during his live performances. Anybody that you will speak with regarding his performance will only have fantastic things to say about the experience (at least this has been my experience). As if Amon Tobin alone wasn’t enough of a show by himself, don’t forget about Eprom, Kastle, Future Simple Project, Seied, and The Digital Connection!  Eprom is an artist from San Francisco, CA, who melts faces on the dancefloor with his breaks and dubstep sound. His music is known to have heavy, trunk-rattling basslines, and he is a fan of mixing a variety of other genres into his music, anywhere from gangsta hip-hop to ’80s electro. Eprom is known for his vivaciously funky live sets, where he alternates between live mixing and live sound manipulation for your entertainment and probable amazement.  Kastle is a producer originally from Pittsburgh, PA and he’s bringing his own unique sound to the Mile-High for this special night. He got into the Northeastern rave scene at a young age, and no doubt acquired many influences for his own music from those experiences. His music can be described as a mixture of glitch, house, dubstep and downtempo. He started taking DJ-ing very seriously as a teen, which naturally manifested into music production thereafter. Kastle is notorious for implementing vast varieties of vocal sounds, both original and sampled, into his tunes. His unique approach to music production has caught the attention of large music labels such as the Ministry of Sound. With all of these phenomenal artists coming together from far and wide to personally deliver their own renditions of celebrating this night of renewal and resolutions, we mustn’t forget about the outstanding local talent that will be starting this night off with a BOOM. Future Simple Project (MIRAJA & MIKEY FISHER of the Family Moons Artist Collective / Dubanimals) out of Boulder, along with Seied and The Digital Connection which are both from Denver, are going to set this night off by scratching the match and setting it on fire. These three artists will collectively bring you the sounds of breaks, dubstep, glitch hop, and livetronica, and no doubt they have something extra hot n’ spicy brewing for the occasion. If you are a basshead that has made it this far into reading this event preview, and you haven’t yet been convinced that this event will be your definite plans for New Year’s Eve, I can naturally only assume that a) you have made other plans already, b) you don’t have a pulse, which would be both peculiar and disturbing at the same time…..seeing as how you are still…. reading…. this……………. (AAAAHHHHH! ZOMBIES!), or c) you are just plain scared of having your face liquefied. If c) is the answer that best fits you, don’t worry bass-cadet. Your assumption of a liquefied face is correct, but it will be far more pleasurable than it might sound, and what better way to start off 2013 than in good company with amazing vibes all around?
