Through the course of February and March, incision will be updating to an all new magazine framework.  It’s going to be fresh, cutting edge, high definition, compatible with your tablet/phone, will feature a store platform, and most importantly will be introducing digital downloads.  The new framework will still feature all the same the previous did, but will stretch to fit the size of your HD television.  This comes in handy on a platform that hosts over 30,000 HD images, intends to host site released-before-youtube videos, and preview stock for the all new addition — incision bypass.

incision bypass was something idea’d at the beginning of 2013.  Anticipating the heavy slowdown in EDM traffic from the Colorado scene, incision wanted to keep the coverage alive by offering free and premium stock packages for content creators needing the edge.  So while doing our regular — we added organization to our list of things-to-do for 2013, including preparing photography, video, and templates for 2D/3D.  Glad to say that it’s almost done and ready to go, all we need now is the platform to host it on.  On a related topic, were also giddy to announce the emergence of a new tutorial series – although that’s all we can divulge on that topic at this point in time.

What else is included in the new framework?  Users will now be able to participate in the reviewing process – the ability to review content under all the same criteria Authors do straight from the comments section.  Along with the new rating system, incision will have a “mini social network”, so as the site grows you can add your own friends, see what they are reading, and even send them private messages.  While it’s not 100% confirmed, the ability to log in using your facebook credentials is a good near future possibility.

We plan to add an audio bar to the top of the page, so that you can listen to the latest and greatest with no interruption while navigating the site.  We will be replacing our events section with a very sleek promotional upgrade.  The Movies and Games sections will be created during the year of 2014 with great comedic and informational content.

Finally introducing ad incentives for authors; all Pages, Posts, Reviews, Downloads, etc. will have fully customizable advertisements on a per content per author basis.  Now new authors can help supplement their income or promote external content while covering what they love.  In addition to advertising, fully customizable social networking follow links including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are adjustable on a per publish basis.  Authors will now be able to provide custom backgrounds to all their content no matter where it is on the site.  Very exciting for content creators.

The downside – it’s going to be a little heavier.  With more AJAX, Ad’s, HD Content, plus other great stuff, incision magazine may take 1-5 seconds longer to load than it did before.  Unfortunately, we can only trade those 1-5 seconds for great visuals and a worthwhile read.  Were willing to bet, unless you read this, you wont even notice.
